About this site
Remove Trees Atlanta is a reference for one problem in one place: a tree that has fallen, or may fall, somewhere in the eleven core counties of metro Atlanta. It explains what to do first, what the city or county requires before a tree comes down, what Georgia insurance pays, and how to choose a crew, and it offers a free line to independent tree services.
What it is not
It is not a tree company. It has no crews, climbers or arborists, holds no contractor license, gives no prices and does no work. The person who answers the number works for an independent provider. How this site is paid
Where the facts come from
Rules come from the governments that set them: the City of Atlanta’s ATL311 guidance, DeKalb County’s and Gwinnett County’s homeowner guides, Cobb County’s permitting office. Insurance answers come from Georgia’s Office of Commissioner of Insurance; neighbor and liability questions from the University of Georgia Extension; safety from OSHA and the International Society of Arboriculture; utility numbers from Georgia Power. County and city records use the National Weather Service’s storm reports, FEMA’s National Risk Index, federal utility territories, NOAA climate normals and the Census Bureau. Where a city’s own rules could not be confirmed from the city, the page says so instead of guessing. Full list: Sources.
None of it is legal advice or an inspection of your tree.
Corrections
Rules change. If a page is out of date, write to contact@removetreesatlanta.com. That address does not book tree work.
